CAPOEIRA KIDS - THE ENERGIA OF BRAZIL
Capoeira is intrinsically a performance art form and has continued to develop in the cultural melting pot that is Brazil. Africans, Portuguese, Native Indians and other cultures combined to create the unique ritual of Capoeira: Dance, Fighting, Theatre and Music. Mestre Gringo has a special interest in teaching the traditions of Capoeira & Brazilian culture. He promotes a family ethos and creates a place where kids feel safe to express there creativity and try new skills that build their confidence.
In class students will be taken through a series of warm-up and stretching exercises, they will learn basic moves and combinations, capoeira songs, play capoeira instruments, participate in a roda and then finish with some cool down exercises. Stretchy clothing, bare feet and water is strongly recommended. Capoeira is good fun and challenging – you’re going to have a great time!
